Moon Jellyfish



                       There are two types of cnidarians: medausa and polyp.  The moon jellyfish is a medusa.  The species name for the moon jellyfish is Aurelia Aurita.  The moon jellyfish swims horizantilly, the moon jelly moves by pulsating its bell on top of the the stingers.  The moon jelly is found near the coast in warm, tropical waters.  They feed mostly on zooplankton.  The moon jellies range in sizes between 5-40 cm. http://marinebio.org/species.asp?id=231
